So, today I'd like to thank Karl for piloting this program and participating in the preliminary interview.
Val: Hey, thanks for being my guest blogger today! I’m sure my reader will love hearing from you. By way of introduction, do you mind answering a few questions? (Come on, play nice, the post kinda depends on your saying “No, I’d be happy to.”)
You (or replace "you" with your name nom de plume): Karl (Kurt) No, I'd be happy to.
Val: So, first things first. How long have you been reading "String of Lights"? And how did you find it? (Apart from Val saying “Read my blog! Read my blog! Read my blog!”, if applicable)
You: Since August 2007. Val said, “Read my blog! Read my Blog”
Val: Do you have a blog? Would you like to put a link to it here?
You: Sad, lame blog that is neglected.
Val: What takes up most of your day?
You: “Thinking about my doorbell… when you gonna ring it.. when you gonna ring it”
Val: What kind of music do you listen to?
You: See quote above … and just about everything else… especially if it has women swearing
Val: What question would you have liked me to ask? (Answer it, too, please)
You: "What doin?" Nothin’...
Val: OK, on to your post...
As I was walking to church on Nebraska Street on a sunny Sunday morning in February, I saw two cholos walking toward me, talking. The short one was relating a story to the taller one.
Short dude: … so I had a few grams left over and I set it down. Then he went to his car and got a red “biohazard” box… you know what those are?”
Tall dude: Yeah… I know
Short dude: Yeah, he said “grab the stuff and put it in here.”
At that point the conversation faded away as we walked our opposite directions.
I want to know more!
